We wrote this Beelink GT-King review after regular use of the Android TV Box device. We wanted to make sure that we completely understand the device from a user’s perspective before giving you our honest take on it.
That’s what makes this Beelink GT-King review a comprehensive one. It covers the backend and the front end as well. Typically, Beelink GT-King makes well-made TV boxes that perform well and can stand the test of time.
Suffice to say, we had high expectations for the Beelink GT-King model. When looking online, we found that many other users echo the same sentiment. Many consider Beelink GT-King to be the best on the market.
You can cop it for $119.99 but there are special deals that you can take advantage of if you know where to look.
What is the Beelink GT-King Android TV Box?
Before we start this Beelink GT-King review, it’s important to note that there’s a vast difference between the Beelink GT-King and regular Android operated streaming devices.
For one thing, the GT-King operates on the conventional Android 9.0 Pie operating system instead of the Android TV OS. Conventional or “stock” Android is designed for tablets and smartphones. On the other hand, Google has created the Android TV OS. The company optimized it for use on TV screens and for use on devices like the Mi Box and NVIDIA SHIELD.

What is the Price of Beelink GT-King?
Of course, price is one of the most important considerations to make for most people.
For one thing, the $119 price tag on the Beelink GT-King is a contentious issue for most people, especially considering the fact that it doesn’t run on the Android TV OS. This means users won’t have access to Android 10 updates or future developments.
Instead, the Beelink GT-King runs on Android 9.0 Pie which is stocked with Android OS that doesn’t get updates.
As a result, we kept comparing this device to the NVIDIA SHIELD while writing this Beelink GT-King review. This is because the NVIDIA is just as pricey but at least it runs on a more sophisticated OS.
The first thing we noticed when we opened the packaging was the build quality and the design. Beelink GT-King really took care of the packaging and shipping to deliver the product in mint condition.
It’s worth noting that this box has exceptional specs that really distinguish it from the competition. Plus, the premium quality build is just something you don’t see often in the industry when you compare it to other TV boxes.
It comes with 64 GB of internal storage, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, and the brand-new Amlogic S922X. This is in addition to a Gigabit Ethernet, 5G Wi-Fi and advanced Bluetooth 4.1. Plus, we can’t forget to mention how lightning-fast it is when it comes to streaming IPTV, shows, series and movies alike.
This Android TV box comes with a regular Beelink launcher. This is the same user interface they used on all of their previous devices. To be honest, they could’ve done better. The good news is you can replace it with an ATV launcher instead, which is easy to install and works like a dream to help you customize any Android TV Box.
Unfortunately, paid services like Amazon Prime and Netflix don’t work well here. But that’s to be expected because the same can be said about any Android TV Box that isn’t running on the Android TV operating system.
The most viable workaround to this problem is to side-load apps that are compatible with the device and willing to enjoy them at minimum resolution.
To conclude our Beelink GT-King review, we highly recommend this TV Box for anyone that’s looking for a device that runs on stock Android Google.
As we said, it offers high-quality craftsmanship which makes it well worth the price. It’s great for cord-cutters, so long as you’re okay with mediocre streaming on platforms like Netflix and Hulu.
But if you’re looking for a more comprehensive streaming experience then you’re better off paying an extra $50 for the NVIDIA SHIELD.
