What is the Best Android TV Box in 2019?

The following article is dedicated to helping you figure out what is the best Android TV box on the market and for your needs. You might be familiar with Android TV boxes like the Kodi box. This is because most people use them along with this popular application.

To determine what is the best, we’ll look at different factors. This includes price, the nature of the ecosystem, available RAM memory, processing power, and usability.

The great thing about Kodi is that it’s compatible with most, if not all, entertainment devices. This includes the Mi Box, Nexus Player, iPad, Apple TV, Android Phone/ Tablets, NVIDIA Shield, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV, Android TV Box, Raspberry Pi, Ouya, Mac, Windows PC and Xbox to name but a few.

We live at a time when it’s possible for anyone to use Kodi on a mobile and plugged in device. It all depends on your preferences.

All you have to do is plug your device into your TV’s HDMI port and you’re good to go!

What is an Android TV Box?

What is an Android TV Box? Simply put, it’s any device that runs on the Android OS which you can connect to your TV. This includes the Mi Box, NVIDIA SHIELD, and Fire TV Stick devices.

However, when it comes to Android TV boxes, it’s important to examine a few important factors to make sure that it’s the right option for you.

The first thing to look at is ease of use. Keep in mind that you’ll most likely be enjoying your entertainment on the couch or in bed while using your Android TV Box. That’s why it must be easy and simple to maneuver.

The good news is that most streaming devices are designed for ease of use because manufacturers know what state people are in when using these devices. However, generic Android TV boxes tend to fail when it comes to using multiple applications at once.

Attention: Read before you continue

Governments and ISPs across the world monitor their users online activities. If found streaming or browsing content on your Fire TV Stick, mobile or PC, you could get into serious trouble. Currently, your IP is visible to everyone. We strongly recommend you to get a good VPN and hide your identity so that your online experience doesn’t take a bad turn.

We use IPVanish which is the fastest and most secure VPN in the industry. It is very easy to install on any device including Amazon Fire TV Stick. Also, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you don’t like their service, you can always ask for a refund. IPVanish also runs a limited time offer where you can save 65% on your VPN and they allow you to use one account on unlimited devices. This is a flash sale that can expire at any time.

Here are the reasons why you must use a VPN all the time.

What About Generic Android TV Boxes?

Generic Android TV boxes are basically devices that operate on stock Android OS instead of the customized Android TV OS. This means they’re not optimized to operate on a television screen.

Stock Android is the operating system that’s used to operate tablets, smartphones and similar devices. But it’s not made to run on a TV screen. With that said, some apps can still work through your TV but generally, this isn’t the case.

Secondly, look out for processing power. Ideally, some of the best Android TV box models of 2019 have impressive processing power that can easily stream 4K and Ultra HD video. Powerful processing power means that you’ll be able to protect your connection with a VPN like IPVanish while streaming content on Kodi and other services.

Also, connecting your Android TV Box to IPVanish means that you’ll enjoy high speed streaming at 4K quality. Both these are essential to enjoying an optimal viewing experience in this day and age.

Top 3 Best Android TV Boxes in 2019

1. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

amazon fire tv stick

This affordable streaming device is one of the best on the market. It has 4K video capability and makes it easy to install Kodi. You don’t even have to go through the Amazon App store if you like. Although that makes for an even faster installation.

Not only that, but the Amazon Fire Stick 4K comes with extra volume control options and an all-new remote control. This offers more options than the previous version.

2. NVIDIA SHIELD

The NVIDIA SHIELD has earned a spot on this list of the best Android TV boxes because it perfectly combines price, value, and functionality.

Not only does it offer more power than the NVIDIA SHIELD, but it comes with 4K compatibility and a host of other great features.

3. Xiaomi Mi Box S

The Mi Box S is one of the most underrated devices on the market right now. It has a very user-friendly interface that reminds us of the NVIDIA SHIELD and it operates on the Android TV operating system. The only downside with this TV box is that it doesn’t come with an Ethernet port. But it’s wireless like most other options though.

I bought the amazon firetv stick a couple of months ago. I love how easy it was to set up and use. I like the side loading capability of the fire stick. I was using a vcr with limited apps. Android tv is a new experience for me which I am still learning about. On line info on these products is great.I plan to begin using a VPN in the near future to complement my internet experience.

Firestick 4K is the best so far. The WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) is best as she finds it very easy to use.

I have bought a fire stick 4K and the Nvidia shield. While the shield is superior,it Does not justify the price,You can get three fire sticks and have some money left over for what the shield costs.(note:I don’t do any gaming so as far as that goes I can’t comment on the shields superior gaming abilities)

I own 3 devices the new and latest fire tv stick 4K and the Minix Neo X8-H Plus and the
Minix Neo U9-H devices

The Minix Neo X8-H Plus and the
Minix Neo U9-H are three times more superior than the fire stick and can be manipulated more and is more versatile devices with less interference from it’s maker Minix

Unlike the Fire Stick who are owned by Amazon and are adding restrictions which you won’t find on the Minix

Correction to previous passage. Hello, I see that my auto correct took over a couple of times giving me typos, in several words, the words should be mouse, and the Mr box should be MiBox S, also the word boxnout should be box out. Sorry for the typo, happy reading and streaming!!!!

I don’t really game that much either but the Shield TV is so powerful and customizable that IMO the price is completely justified. And with exception the latest Oreo update I’ve only had one issue. I switched from Plex to Emby six months ago because every Plex update did more harm than good. But an issue arose that required a Shield firmware update that was still months away. So I went to the Shield TV forum and requested the developers firmware image to install and just sixty minutes later they sent it to me. After a 5 minute installation not… Read more »
